Impermanence is part of the art film collection Human Frames that concentrates on psychological states such as happiness, desire, madness, fanaticism, fear, anger, isolation, melancholy and mono no aware. This volume presents five contemporary works from Asia and Europe that reflect on the permanent becoming and changing of all beings and the concomitant ephemerality of human existence. The films invite us to look back in order to move forward.

This volume presents nine contemporary works from Asia and Europe that illustrate our body’s instinctive mechanism in the face of danger. Through various cinematographic means, the artists remind us just how much fear is expressed through language, images, and montage.

Lowave director Silke Schmickl collaborates with The Arts House in Singapore to celebrate its 10th Anniversary! The exhibition Going Places, which runs from 26 March to 18 May, combines the poetry of 26 local poets captured intimately by sound recordings of their own narrations. In a mix media installation of contemporary photography and archival film and photography from the Singapore Archives juxtaposed with the spoken word of Singapore's finest contemporary poets, the exhibition explores the evolution of Singapore's cityscape.

This programme presents ten contemporary works from Asia and Europe that analyze the physical and spatial circumstances of isolation as well as the psychological and social conditions that surround it. The films reflect our ambiguous attitudes towards isolation as both the object of our fears and yet something that we long for.
