Rising Images – Lowave celebrates its 10 years
23-31 March 2012, Cinéma du Réel/Centre Pompidou, Paris
Since 2005, Lowave has been following the artistic trends of the Middle East and North Africa through our artists in the Resistance[s] collection and the numerous programs and exhibitions that we have been involved in. From Europe to the United States, passing through Africa and Asia, these images were detained, marked, publically questioned and have brought to light other realities than those offered by traditional media.
They also demonstrate the existence of a vibrant, modern and commited arts scene that attests to the presence of subversive forces long before the Arab Spring. The Rising Images program is dedicated to these authors and celebrates 10 years of Lowave - under the banner of artistic resistance.

Lowave Exhibitions
Lowave has curated and produced exhibitions since 2008. Often inspired by our research projects and publications, these projects have been realised in close collaboration with international exhibition spaces. Some, such as Resistance[s] at the 3rd Triennial of Guangzhou, responded to invitations from major art events, others, more intimate, paid tribute to Lowave's unique art identity.
